I was looking for some decent engine mount rubbers and some guys on the Capri threads use Range Rover V8 mounts as are much more solid and won't rip after a few months, so I ordered a couple of sets, one set for mine and the other for the zetec conversion I was doing. Without welding new bkts I used 1300 mk1 escort right mount bkt for the left side and a mk2 escort left bkt for the right side,, it all measured good and central so in they went!
Now that the engine is in, the radiator goes in for the last time

Now the roof lining is in I can install the windscreen

Black locking strip is part of the molded seal, not sure where it came from but fitted nice and snug

Found these fans on the high shelf in back of the shed, I cleaned both up and decided to go with the yellow one, mainly cause it's genuine pinto fan ... Not cause it's yellow !!

Brand new barn door seals were ordered from Rare Spares, as some shops in UK don't stock them or never reply

I'm going to be fitting mk1 escort door trims, these were a tan color so I bought vinyl spray in satin black, a escort purist mate of mine hates that I'm doing this and said to get mk2 van trims ... For some reason they are hard to get in good condition and the style of them is just... Yuk !

Tracked down a falcon xw non lock fuel cap

After bolting the seats in I noticed they were quite high up so I got to the grinder and trimmed down the seat legs about an inch and welded the tops back on

Coming along nicely.  After hoodlining the first items I put in was the glass, made it feel like a car again, not just a shell.

I've always wondered why the Pinto fan blades aren't equally spaced ?

I think it’s to do with noise reduction. However these cars were hardly “quiet” even when new 😬. Another possibility is in other situations where the blades are unavenly spaced it may be to allow tooling access without removing the fan? Or maybe an engineer just said “what the hell, this will have ppl discussing the reason for years” 😂

Paul, you must've looked the Google up as me cause that's the answer I seen 😎 noise acoustics.. what if they put offset fans in the mufflers, would that tone the noise down some ...!

Broken seat runners were welded and reinforced

With the underfelt stuck down I can concentrate on getting the carpet down

With carpet down and chairs in it's looking more like a car again

Just making sure the gaps are all even, notice the lock has disappeared..

Cars get so dusty in my part of town, this is about a month and is way undercover

Got starting on the head, not going ballistic tho i gave it a Marty port work , removing all the valve post and doing a big radius to the valve..

Once porting was done it went to Harmans Engines in Salisbury , I asked for the head to have a light refacing of about 0.120th(3mm) and check other wear parts while in.. all came back fine for once. With the head back home it's ready for build up , sorry to disappoint folks that the cam is stock, valves are stock as are springs etc , it's no race car and want it kept quiet tame.
While waiting for the head to be ready I built a battery tray from aluminum for something different..
