STD mk2 pedalbox got a rebuild and paint



I've lowered it from the rotisserie so now it's build up time..
Just had to stick the grill on for enthusiasm



Struts and brake booster frame installed, I've binned most bolts/nuts in favour of new tensile or Allen bolts where necessary



After making the front spoiler, and because I've fitted twincam arches which moved the opening forward about 30mm at the front bottom edge, I needed to trim the return edge off the spoiler and move it forwards to match the arch



Once prepped and smoothed I gave it a squirt of paint to match the car

While the spoiler got paint, so did the hinges



Hoping this is the last of yellow to be painted, seem to throw out nearly as much as I mix...

Back on track... After work commitments.
I've had a set of retrimmed rx7 s2 seats in the mezzanine for years n years, time to dust them off and play installation..



Actually wasn't that hard, remove rx7 runners and install escort runners with a couple holes to drill, one seat is a bung shape from where the rx7 has a bulge for the exhaust so I made a mini extension from RHS to line up .. Apart from recaro, these have been the simplest chair to install..



Back to the engine for a while, this new electric dizzy turned up in the post from AccuSpark , the only issue I have had is the oil O ring was perished on arrival so bought a packet from the hardware store lol




Clutch and lightened flywheel bolted to the motor

Just making sure all the lines and bkts are in the correct places


Brand new Aluminium 3core radiator


With the box bolted up I checked for clutch operation before installing



Engine in !!

Still hunting for a pinto head, I have some leads on a low K'er locally..
With the engine in I can finally fit the bonnet , starting to look more like a vehicle now

Ordered a full length roof lining from a qld eBay store in black fabric. I personally hate white roof linings ! The lining went in without a problem, plenty of excess to trim which is good. Time of install took about 6hrs being careful..




Satin black covers went in to finish the edges, I was going to yellow them... But nah..


Found some good, non busted reverse lamps to install, I couldn't remember the wires so took a uneducated guess... When I put the battery in, the reverse lights came on so something was wrong there, the wiring back there was a full abortion from trailer wiring and all-sorts... Will sort that out later ...

at this rate mate you will be rocking up to all of your Christmas do's in the yellow load lugger. :)

Nice job, Marty. lucky to get a headlining that fits first time up.  I bought a ready made off Fleabay and it didn't come close. Ended up getting an upholsterer to made one from template of the original, which luckily I had kept.

Hi Len, sorry to hear yours was cut wrong, they might have changed the templates since then... Mine had a good 100mm at the doors spare and out the back .

Wouldn't that be funny😆, I'm hoping to have it regd during the new year hols. As with putting any car back together, there will be setbacks , unknown stuff or untested parts like the new KE Laser master cylinder(cause escort ones are price stupidly) and the "found it in the boot of spares" vac servo ... debugging once it's up and running..
