Can't see why not, I've seen a Kent engine running via an 'IV drip' It ran and revved no worries.

Cool, I'm going to blank off the mechanical fuel pump hole, will it hurt to leave the little shaft in there or do ya take it out?

Shaft can stay in but include the spacer so it doesn't clash with the blanking plate.

Definitely take it out.

It's not needed so remove it to avoid it bashing the blanking plate
