I bought a Motomech new deep dish, but after fitting it doesn't look right to on a Mk 2.
Does anyone know of an imitation flat 4 spoke of the above?

yep, that's closer, but a 4 spoke with RS badge would be the holy grail.

I'm thinking about putting one in, in conjunction with a few other wiring mods as an alternative to the worn out ignition on the Escort.Cant be any less secure than current, my Capri locks will open just with an insult.
 Maybe after roadworthy has been done?

Nah. Throwing money at a converted 1600 is money down the drain. The last converted 1600 on ebay sold for $13,300.  Genuine V6 can fetch up to $30k.  Maybe worth considering only to sell the v6 engine and do v8 a conversion.  Then as a v8 would be worth in the mid $30's.  But even then not at that price.  There was a good yellow 1600 project in Perth a few weeks ago for $3500.

yeah but by the time you find a good v6 gt at a fair price then throw another 20k + to make it new again and right and only to be worth what you spent on it ...
 
doing up my v6gt has cost me heaps .. id probably rather the v6 clone for 4gs running  and then i would be able to do what i like to it different trim any color i wanted bigger wheels etc
 
on another note thought id replace the electric fuel pump i have on mine was at repco and thought it would only be few dollars more for same one .. turns out it was a f...ing joke 127 dollars for the same one i can get of ebay for 25 bucks ..  think ill just get a holley low pressure one

Yep V6 original is for the purist. I don't see too much point in being able to say it's an original car with this and that. They all drive the same. Also someone will always be there to say that's not original or that's not correct but who cares. My Perana isn't a numbers matching engine but it's still an original Perana engine. If anyone reckons that detracts from its authenticity then their idiots.

That Escort estate looks cool, but really, he should have hidden the tow truck before taking the pics. With the scrape on the side who's thinking it was an oldies car, they've handed in their licence, moved on or passed on...
He probably offered to tow it away for free, just to help out... Theres a couple of Perth tow'ys notorious for doing just that, then asking a small fortune for the car or its parts.
