What makes the 4cyl Xflow Engine crazier is its in NZ where things used to be cheaper ! ........ not any more
,,,,,,,,,, add another $200+ minimum for "crate n frate" to cross the ditch. Or is it more ?
Funny thing is, someone will pay it. The seller only has ONE, and doesn't want to suffer "SELLER'S REMORSE" by selling it too cheap...........you can always come down, but its a bit harder to go up.
When I got my V6 5 years ago and was too busy with customers cars to strip and inspect my own engine, I got 2 quotes from local "Engine Builders" which made my eyes water and my knees buckle and give way in disbelief!
It worked out they were charging $150 x hr to the trade ! ..... 5 years ago !

The V6 would just have to wait till I had time: best decision I could have made. Had no idea the Essex was such a pleasure to overhaul. Plus the satisfaction of knowing I did it, and did it right.
