He's got rid of most of them now, he had some real beauties genuine Mk1 Lotus Cortina, GT500 Cortina, Twin Cams, RS2000's, Sierras, the list goes on, he also had a few Aussie Fords, XC Cobra, John Goss hardtop, XW GT. We used to race against each other in the Appedix J class at Wanneroo Raceway. We were also both active members of the British Ford Owners' Club in Perth. Had a great time organising rallies etc. He still competes in the Targa West every year in a much modified RS2000.

The British Ford owners club was by far the best club I have been involved with, fond memories. Just put two and two together and realised who owned that Chastain. That was a mighty collection he had. Still in close contact with the now owner of his GT500 Cortina, small world...

I think if your car is close to original than its only fair to try and keep it that way.

This little comment has been playing on my mind for a while now and I have decided that since the hot orange is so close to original it deserves to be with someone that appreciates originality more than I do so its up for sale.  Not sure how I feel about it but the misses is happy to see the number of projects decrease.

Anyone see any issues, am i correct in saying the bonnet isnt original since its missing the vent at the rear being a 1970 model.

Depends when it was made, pretty sure only the first 6 months or so of the 1970 has the 2 piece bonnet they also had 3000GT badge instead of 3000V6.

Mine is a 09/70 and has the two piece bonnet and 3000V6 badges!! I've had the car for 37 years and believe it's all original.
