I got the battery tray off the red shell. No - the mounts on ebay don't have a tray - I am getting another one in - a friend is wrecking a pre facelift v6...

Yeah I'm not to fussed about the battery tray making something to suit is not that hard and battery in boot is always an option as well. The guards though seem easy to repair compared to the stone tray. Whilst it's not seen closely apart from the top edge it's that edge that is critical to have nice and straight. I don't mind a bit of filler but maximum 2mm tops, love the lead wiping and will use that especially on top of guards and Apillar section. The slight curve of the valance is hard to fix up and the top is harder again. In saying that I've fixed one up 70% better than it was but this car needs it done better. Will see how it goes but still interested in stone tray and valance. See how it goes.

U know the later escort and Capri battery trays fit nice - and are readily available on eBay - I used one on that pewter Capri I fixed. Thanks BEE VEE - I just enjoy fixing them - get away from work and start grinding!

cheers Spud for a new thread to follow, Capri forum was getting pretty slow lately..
It looks like you have a good supply of panels in the background. You know when things are getting serious when the car gets a cover put on it.

So will this end up being registered and driven, or are you planning to sell?

No I'll keep it - maybe on club rego. Yes I have to clear all of the donor cars out - put them under tarps for the mo - so there's room to work on the resto ones. That ones in a good spot at the mo - put the wheels on, back the car trailor under it and drive it to the spray booth

stripped the bonnet back - holes had been drilled to accommodate bonnet pins - ills get rid of them. the front edge is rusty at points and has been hit, pushing the front edge back and down. ill remove reinstall the existing inner frame and replace the outer skin forward of the bulge with the front section of the 4cyl bonnet..

a nice, crisp bonnet - like the capri pictured!

This car is coming along nicely.
Do you use a mig or tig to weld the bonnet skins together spud?
