For sale 4age 16v engine conversion for Mk1 Cortina.
Motor starts and runs, 2x 40dcoe webers on redline manifold, unknown 5spd gearbox.
No body mods needed except for a new hole for the gearstick.
Included, modified front crossmember/ mounts, gearbox mount, primary exhaust pipes, tailshaft, plumbing for cooling and oil pressure, throttle cable etc... Will try to include as much wiring as I can, it looks like a piggy back loom but won't know for sure until I disassemble. Need to keep it running for potential buyers in the meantime.
Asking $1500 and an exchange crossmember for original engine.
Posting it on the forums first and if no luck I'll gumtree it as parts and it can go back in a corolla where it belongs.
Cheers Drew...

Hey Ratta tat tat got the matching number 1500 pushrod to go back in, kudos to the previous owner for keeping all the original stuff. I've been thinking long and hard about it and it came down to the fact that it wasn't engineered, I'll be in a whole world of trouble if the unspeakable happens, besides I want to cruise the car, the TE50's still there if I want to go out for a hoon...
Flighter we can work something out if thats the path you guys want to go with the van, it'll be a week or two before I advertise it to the public...
Cheers Drew...

That's great to hear Drew. The xflows/ pre xflows are such an under rated motor and and sound fantastic on-song!

I'm afraid his dreams of a twin cam engine are bigger than his high schooler bank account. On the upside, the guy who sold him the van said it had a hotter cam in it, although I suspected it was BS because it didn't rev high enough for my liking. We pulled the cover off today to adjust the clearances (which were all completely tight), and sure enough, there's a new looking RL32 in there. The engine is poorly tuned in my opinion, for a whole host of foolish reasons, so I think it will improve a lot once someone who knows what they are doing tweaks it.

But I digress. I agree that your Cortina will be more valuable with the original Kent in it, especially if you go as stock visually as possible. The nanny police state we live in isn't kind to modded cars, and I wouldn't want the headache, heartache, and hip pocket pain of trying to engineer the 4AGE (even though the youTube video I saw of a Mk1 Cortina with one looked like a helluvalot of fun).

Good deal Drew, if I were in WA or even still had my Anglia I'd be all over it!
