A few pics,
Here is a 13x7 rim, 205/60 R13 tyre. Yes its on the wrong side but gives you an indication of width on standard guards. I ran this combination for many years on rolled lips and the front of the front guards relieved (for reversing) for years without much hassle.
I'm currently running a 17x8.5 rim with 205/40 r17 on approx 2.5 inch decambered leafs with watts linkage to eliminate diff walk.
I've since mini tubbed the rear but only to make use of the 8.5 rims with some larger rubber.
You guys that are struggling with 185's and 13's are either running your cars very, very low, have a rear end that walks around on old bushes,
or need a different offset..... Then again, given the build qualities of our old fords, maybe I just got lucky!!
Are they rubbing on one side or both?
