Just flicked an email off to jim, no good that email account is deleted

When I bought it my capri had a 231 Buick v6 engine in it which is the fore runner to the commo v6 so I can tell you for sure that it will fit and will clear brake master/booster, steering etc.  You may have to modify the sump but it will go in the bay.  I still have all the Buick gear that was in my capri if it's of any interest to you? Engine mounts to suit 4 banger cross member, flywheel, clutch and bell housing to suit BorgWarner single rail 4 speed (maybe 5 speed too) and tail shaft to suit what I think was an atlas diff from a later capri.  Also the buick engine (carby version) itself too?

Seen a few now in early cortinas, they are cheap as chips given the price of early commodores. You might struggle with the sump as they have a front sump but other than that, it should fit without any problems.
Some will not like the fact that it is a Holden engine, yet we are happy to run Volvo calipers on or BMW discs, Toyota 5 speeds, Holden uni joints, hilux diffs with Alfa discs and Nissan calipers on Saab rims.
It is your car, do whatever you want, most of all, enjoy it.

Yeah and sometimes Ford does it for us. .mazda duratec motor and suspension in the Focus mk2 & mk3 .. my mk2 Focus ST has a Volvo 5cyl turbo engine and gearbox !
The Buick v6 has been around since early 70s , it was also supercharged in the late 70s in a usa Buick sedan and was a tough engine .. I've seen a 3.8 in a bmw 318i and it went like the clappers !! I'm not a fan of using a motor from the opposition but it's your vehicle to play with however you like and enjoy. ☺
