After a bigger than Big Hur effort it now lives. After minimal mods to engine. Other than a freshen up, balance and blue printing,11:5-1 compression, excellent head work (port matching both manifolds) and camshaft choice and a EMS Stinger V4 comp. A modest 120 hp @rw.

Sorry to go off topic (wasn't paying attention to which thread I posted to), but technically Ratta (and this is just for info, and nothing more), they are not strictly Ghia wheels you are after.  They were standard on Ghias until they went to alloys late in the Mk2 life cycle, but Ford referred to them as "styled steel wheels".  They were fitted to lesser Escorts as part of option packages (e.g. Fashion Pack, Rally Pack and Sundowner), and possibly as a separate option on their own.  I think most, if not all, came with chrome trim rings too, at least in '78.

Back on topic now, and that's a very impressive looking car you have there Laurie - I wish I had an engine just like that!

Thanks for the info flighter. I have a full set (x5) of mint condition Volante's which I'm taking off to replace with "styled steel". Love it ;)
