Focussed on the doors on the weekend. The prep work before the paint process paid off with the doors fitting well pretty much straight up. Finished the tail shaft and installed it as well as the last of the brake lines.
I'd appreciate views on the use of Autolite or Motorcraft decals in the engine bonnet. I know Ford transitioned to Motorcraft in 72 but I don't know when.

Darian
Hello,

I have a couple of quick questions.

Yellowfiregt - a fantastic job you are doing there.  I notice in your early posts you are using the standard Rocker Covers with Roller Rockers.  Have you had any issues - obviously there is enough clearance. Or is it dependant on what brand of Roller you use?

Capri Carl - noted in your posting that "you" have a toothed belt set-up on your Alt, Fan and W/Pump.  I know you said you use Bo Seton for your Engine builds but do you have any more info and what / where / which type / brand or any other info for this set-up please?

Thanks in Advance,

Regards,

Darian.

Hi Darian. Yella Terra roller rockers fit under standard rocker covers although from memory a couple of them need to be machined or ground down to fit.

I had a toothed belt set up when I bought the car but I pulled it of and stored it and replaced it with original parts. Not sure of the specs as I never looked into it. I still have the set up if you need any info etc. I didn't use Bo Seton for my engine work. That may have been Capri Carl with his ex Seton race car.

Had a good crack on Saturday. A fellow Capri club member installed the hòod lining and front and rear windscreens. As you can see in the pic the sunroof winder cup and mechanism have gone in along with grab handles etc. The windscreen rubbers I purchased from Burtons in the UK fitted really well as did the new laminated windscreen. The locking strip tool I bought earned it's money when the strip went in easily.
The exhaust system goes in tomorrow at a shop which will enable engine start up in the coming weeks. I've gone with a twin mandrel bent stainless pipe and two mufflers existing through the LHS outlet. I'll post photos of the completed job.

Another step forward today with the exhaust fitted. The exhaust guy did a great job. The finish is great with a tidy flange in front of the diff to split the system. He painted the stainless pipe black and went to the trouble of masking the polished stainless mufflers and painting it off the car to avoid over spray. Can't wait to hear how it sounds in the coming weeks.
It's just me and this wiring harness now. I'm determined not to be beaten by it.

That should sound nice.  I have 2 triple chamber mufflers and 2 resonators and its still too loud, so two decent mufflers should be nice.  Any reason/advantage why you didnt recreate it as original where it goes over the diff on both sides?

Thanks GTV6. I would have liked to keep it original but I've gone for a high flow system to ensure I get the power the performance bits like the triples, cam etc can deliver. From what I understand the standard system is pretty restrictive with the extra pipework length on the drivers side.

Awesome looking job you are doing
Did you get new corner pieces for the front and rear windscreen locking strips, if so would you mind telling me the supplier
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the feedback. The locking strips themselves are new and came from Burtons in UK. The anodised aluminium corner pieces are old and have just been polished up.

After countless attempts at putting the sunroof in, pulling the sunroof out then making adjustments and putting back in the sunroof is now installed. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to be that difficult as we had test fitted it when we pulled it out. Clearly the new hood lining, felt seal, foam seal etc had changed the fit. The end result is good considering the issues that needed to be overcome. Having a sunroof is cool until you try to install one with limited information and no spare parts if you break anything.
