I'd appreciate any ideas or leads people have on a replacement for the Lucas park light connector clips onto the headlight connector. I've sourced new Lucas headlight connectors but haven't found a park light connector as a direct replacement. The original park light connectors I have are pretty ordinary and appear melted and brittle from age and heat.

Had a good session on the car with my father today. As you can see from the photos the bonnet is now fitted as is the boot lid. Both panels went on without damage which was great.
Also fitted the radiator including mounting the two thermo fans on the custom brackets.
Finished off today fabricating a bracket for the accelerator cable for the triple weber manifold. Took a bit of messing about but the brackets been fabricated which will enable the cable to be permanently installed. This will enable the brake booster to go in which will be another good job out of the way.

For me, blaze blue is probably the best of the blue colours Capris came in. Your car is looking better every update, keep up the good work!

Cheers

Thanks cosworthfreak. The colour is really striking. The bonnet breaks up the brightness of the blue which could be overpowering by itself. Its quite similar to Grabber Blue as seen on the Boss Mustangs. I can't wait to load the white interior in the car as I think the combo will be magic.

I've made some progress in recent weeks. As the photo points out I've got the K&N air filters fitted to the triples now. You might thinking that's an easy job. Well it is if the engine isn't sitting too high which results in the front air cleaner interfering with the bonnet. Fortunately I suspected there may be a problem so I gently lowered the bonnet which prevented any damage. The fix involved removing the extractors, refitting my engine lifting plates, lifting the engine enough to remove the engine mounts, increasing the size of the slot in the cross member by 5mm, reinstalling the mounts and then lowering the engine back in place and refitting the extractors etc. All that work to close the bonnet!
I also fitted up the accelerator cable, brake booster, fuel lines, choke cable and fan.
I haven't sorted the harness yet which is bugging me.
I picked up a new laminated windscreen so I plan to install the hood lining and windscreen sometime in the next fortnight.
It's slow going but going well all the same.

Good thread yellowfiregt

One question on aircleaner height - will you have enough clearance still with motor flexing on engine mounts under normal use?

Good question. I've checked the clearance and there's about 15mm between the bonnet power bulge and the top of the air cleaner dome nuts. I will check clearance whilst I'm running the engine in to see if I could have a problem or not.

Hi all,
I am looking to make contact with mac1capri or anyone around Perth WA that can assist me with obtaining some parts for my project (Capri 1970 GT V6).  Parts required at this stage are R/H door. gear selector rubber boot, console and rear parcel tray.  Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rob.
