Hey all
I have some superpro bushes for my leaf spring saddles but have run into a problem. Please see pics below
Superpro bushes don't protrude from the top shackle and locate into the leaf spring brackets on axle housing.
It would be great to do away with them altogether and replace with solid plates and side retainers. Anyone know where I can buy them for MK1?

Superpro SPF1979K and the Ford bush behind with steel collar

No protrusion to locate into bracket

Hey Mate,

Contact Wozzah on the forum, I just got a new set of rear springs from him and he included the solid metal plates too.

Or just cut down the spring saddles and do away with them altogether.

Cheers,

Matt

I made a few calls/ sent some emails today. The place where I bought them from is going to do an exchange for Whiteline W71973
http://whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=W71973
The protrusion on the Whiteline product is 10mm compared to the 3mm on Superpro.
All good, and a lesson learnt that not everything that comes out of a packet will be perfect!

 Wish I'd found this earlier.

Changed all rear end bushes in my Mk1 today to find same issue with leaf spring pad bushes.

I have contacted Superpro and R&D dept were going to look at tooling/dies. Hopefully it will help others in future.

Rhys,
you should just get rid of them all together.
just make a bush that will go through the hole in the leaf springs and up through into the diff.

Hi Gazz,

I had to resort to running bush only, not upper saddle/bracket.

Thanks,

Hi all, I'm going through the rear leaf spring mount saga on my 76 Capri2 V6. Ordered a set from local Autopro dealer  SPF1979K supposed to fit 69/74 Capri, Mrk1&2 Escort. Compared with originals? nothing like what I need to locate into spring pad on diff and too short in the spigot. Looked up in Parts manual I have and yes, two different PN for top and bottom. 70EB-5536-AA and 70EB-5K617-AA visible on old ones as well.
Rang Superpro HQ at Moorooka qld and they said they sold heaps overseas no problem. I had difficulty getting them to understand the function of the locating spigot that the metal sleeve goes on, sent Nick at R&D a photo and he's asked me to bring in a sample. It seems they have been advised via above posts enough to realise a problem I have a 71 Capri so I stole the mounts out of that, they are identical to the Capri2 ones so at least back in action. I'm hoping I can return/swap the duds as they were $95
