Hi Shaun
Didn't think they would do this but anyway.
Looking at getting someone to re-pour them at the moment.

Good idea with the bearing i'll have a look on the weekend to see what fits. Is this all that is done with the bearing tops just a circlip under the bearing?

No hurry to keep it on the road has only done 1000-2000km in the last 4-5 years

Just giving it a check over tidy up to start using it a bit more.

I've got some standard tops but the struts won't poke through, these were from a celica with external adjusters bit shorter than escort ones.

Hey guys,

Got given some of the adj. noltec bearing type tops.  Not 100% sure how they should fit up.  Can somone post some pics or instructions for me?  Tried online but couldn;t find anything.

Thanks, Shaun

All goes under the guards, just the nuts on top.

Thanks Grant,
And the other two pieces that fit ofver the shock, one under and the other one top where the nut is??

Might take a pic of what I have got when I get home.

Ah yes, i'm not sure how they fit on standard escort inserts however, mine are shorter so only have the bottom mount.

Basically the spacer on top of the spring cup\platform the strut top over that, lift up under guard and bolt up.

Have yours got the blue plastic in them?? if so i'd consider replacing it

Noono
Mine turned to dust recently too.
I've heard from a couple of people that lack of use accelerates deterioration ?

Has anyone successfully had them repaired with a different compound?

Mine are stuffed as well. Personally I wouldn't get them remoulded. The consequences of having one fail at high speed? Best get solids or rubber GRP4 tops.
