I have had a problems with a few things on the engine, the throttle position sensor was not working and the starter motor wasn't disengaging from the ring gear. Looks like there is a oil leak somewhere but these things happen.
It  sounds tough . Will post a vid of the dyno later.

Awesome looking car mate. Very nice job. I just recently bought a mk1 1600 my self but going with the 302 conversion. Was going to set it up for track days any advise on suspension mods?

Just a update about whats going on, i had a partial dyno tune, but when they tied the car down the rear wheels rubbed and smoked out the dyno room.
Well long story short i reflaired the guards and fixed a small oil leak them took the car to Q/ R for a shakedown run.
I did about 20 laps when i noticed a bit of a tapping from the engine.
Upon removal and strip down a couple  bearings had spun.
I sourced a new crank and rods form the usa and am now putting it back together hoping to get it on the track around april/ may.
Im also trying to fit a dry sump system to it so as i make headway ill shoot a few photos on here

Hi Jimmy b
Great work on your Capri I have enjoyed following your write up on the car and love the ingenuity of the engine conversion.
I am curious how the oil pump pickup connects. In the images of the engine conversion the sump has a braided hose going from the lower rear section of the sump to a well in the front of the sump. is this a drain for the front section of the sump or is it for the pickup?
I look forward to reading more posts on your car and perhaps a vid of it in action.

Hi
The braided hose was just so the front and rear bowls had a flow of oil between them.
Ive now done away with that system as the engine spun a bearing and i have now gone to a dry sump.
Heres a few photos. Its nearly ready to hit the track again, i know its been a while but we have had a birth and death in the family as well as a new location so ive been a bit tied down.
