Hi im building up a capri racer and would like to post a few photo's of the build up, i will be doing all the work myself so things could get ugly
A bit on my background; ive alwayed loved the look of capri's and have watched Bathurst since the mid 70"s and always wanted barry seton to show up the bigger cars. As i entered my mid 20's i had already owned a couple of capri's and wanted to race one myself so with the help from my brothers we built up a fairly standard v6 a set of koni's and a open exhast. I joined the queensland street sedan racing club andit went on from there. I had mild success with 122 rear wheel hp under my right foot and used to watch the rotories and torana's leave me for dead on lakesides main straight. Building a good hp v6 in those days wasnt easy and mine blew up plenty of times and was very frustrating. I retired from racing in 1990 to raise a family and now i have the time to build up another car. This is quite a good shell and doesnt have too much rust. I will be attempting to fit the latest mustang all alloy 6 bolt main 300 hp v6 and will run it in standard form untill some one builds some hot parts for it. Gearbox is a t56 6 speed thanks to my friend over the road who donated it as a worthy cause.
Anyway here's some photos and will try to do a update every week.

Done a bit more this week painted and polished the simmons, front are 7.5 inches rear are 8.5 inches.
I hope i can use them but ive noticed that the race products fully floating cambered hubs have a 77 mm centre, there's not going to be much meat left on the inside of the simmons hub after the machining to allow the wheel to drop over it.
Stripped a bit more of the underside and im nearly up to the diff area, not to bad a job either if someones looking for some experience on a wire wheel.
Ok here's some photo's.
