BTW, the next Sierra owners meetup in QLD will be the 50th Anniversary Touring Car meeting at Lakeside Raceway on August 12th-14th. We're expecting at least a couple of Group A Sierras to be racing this weekend, so don't miss it

I agree Paul, it was a great day with glorious sunshine & plenty of nice cars! Shame we were banished down the back: must have been saving the best till last . Ha ha. I too thought the drive around the track would have been at a snail's pace, but we were surprised. It worked out well after a few people dropped off & I snuck past that MG, then we could give it a squirt; not sure it was 10 laps but I didn't want to stop. It was also good to meet you, Jasen, Darryl & the others & to talk cars etc during the day & also to have the chance to see your respective cars. Looking forward to doing it again soon.

Well the weather over the long weekend might not have been the best but COS086 & I braved the rain to make the trip up the coast to catch up with some fellow cossie owners. Jasen, Jon and their families, Saleem & myself met at the Fox & Hound a little English/Irish booza at the base of Mt Tamborine. It was packed & parking was at a premium so, after a quick pint, it was decided to change to a more suitable venue. I only managed to get a couple of quick pictures of the cars as we didn't really get a chance to get the cars into a good position. Luckily there was no rain during the middle of the day & Jon brought out his mint RS500 (a very nice car) & he has a few more very tasty wheels I can't wait to see!!! So it was a great day albeit a little short but well worth the effort to meet & catch up with everyone & I am definitely looking forward to regular meetings in the future.

Holy moly that car looks nice. Well done on the effort - I would have crashed the car straining my next if I drove by.

Disappointed I couldn't make it last weekend to catch up. Jons car looks great, can't wait to see it in person. Hopefully the five of us can all get together for the Touring Car meeting at Lakeside in August.

August 12th-14th Graeme. There should be at least two Group A Sierra running at the meeting, so it should be worth the trip out. Hopefully that works in with your trip, it'd be good to meet you.

Paul.

Ok, so only a bit over three weeks until the 50th Anniversary of Touring Cars meeting at Lakeside Raceway. I recently read that Norm Beecheys Monaro and Moffats Mustang will be at this meeting, which only adds to what's shaping up as an epic event. Apparently they are expecting up to 10,000 spectators over the weekend [:u]

Anyway, I was thinking of making Saturday the 13/08 our cruise/meeting to this event, as it's only $20 entry for the day and a few of these old cars probably won't make it to Sunday

What do you guys think?

A few good points you make there Paul. I was talking to a mate who went down to the historics at Philip Island earlier this year & he said that Friday & Saturday were the pick of the three days as a lot fewer cars ran on the Sunday. Anyway I am keen to fit in with the majority I guess. Unfortunately both days present some issues for me.
