I love it. thats the first white V6 Ive seen apart from mine (it was probably the most common color but does anyone know how many white Capris were built?) and it looks perfect . ml what month is stamped on your compliance plate, mines November 1970, I wonder how far apart on the assembley line they were. I also have to agree on the blackouts it changes the look of the car whoever designed them got it right. For my bonnet blackouts I was able to take measurements off another original untouched Capri so mine is as per factory but I changed the side stripes to make them easier to apply. Cheers again for a great looking car

SSthis. Mine is 12/70,so they wouldn't have been too far apart on the production line!
What is the actual black paint code that you used. Is it "GT Black"???

thanks for your comments

This is what it would look like. This is mine but it's head is on the chopping block to make room for the other cars.

Hi Mark, Hi Guys. I build this car years ago and it looks pretty much like it did then. It was a labour a love that I dearly regreted having to sell after only putting 100km on it...
Glad to see Mark's enjoying it, and stocked he's looking after it.

For what it's worth, he few things I wanted to do to really finish it off properly;
The bonnet blackouts (but in gloss), the tailout blackouts, I could never find a good set of chrome trims to go around the back lights and get some grunt out of the engine- 10 years trying to find a reasonably priced tripple webber manifold before giving up! and if it was still mine I'd change the wheels...the rebels wern't brilliant in the clearance department and made the front a little heavy.( air con and power steer were also on the wishlist)

Glad to see it's still in good hands.

Hey Liam,
How's it going. Thanks for your comments.

Funny you should mention triple webbers. WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

Also, have a new chrome trim for the bootlid (thanks to SMCKA) that has never been fitted to a car. Took me this long to find it!

So it's all go at the moment and should look a little different shortly with a few add on's (or three)

HI Liam,

i also have a 1970 diamond white Capri - if you want to see it go to the Perth forum i run

http://Perthcapri.blogspot.com/

on the right hand side you will see a tab saying "my 1970 mk1 Capri"
you will notice i have the older bonnet with the cast iron piece at the back. I have the back blacked out - i think it looks heaps better but thats my personal opinion, diversity is the spice of life i guess. I will add some more photo's on there soon

nice car by the way

regards Paul
