im thinking of sending the heads away to get them done for unleaded fuel and larger valves put in to match the port work on em
 
im after a good set of head gaskets people have used and are proven ive noticed on the or most sets i have they dont look to good and seem pretty cheap crap ..
im after a set that have the raised seal around the water jackets and borders  .. like these i see payden have some and this other brand ... anybody used these or these style or any similar that a a good gasket

Most head gaskets fail due to the following:   1.  Unclean surfaces
                                                                 2.  Block and or head surfaces not perfectly flat. Have surfaces machined.
                                                                 3.  Stretched head bolts.  Should replace with new.
                                                                 4.  Bolts bottoming out after machineing to block and heads.
                                                                 5.  Incorrect torque tightening.
 
I install head gaskets dry and use ACL brand gaskets up to about 170HP and Cometec brand from 170HP to 220HP and then custom made (with a fire ring).
This may assist.

Victor Reinz gaskets have a good rep for the Pinto, so you might like to look into them too. Available at Burton's and probably eBay UK.

Some also let go due to inlet manifold corrosion.  Don't forget to get the inlet manifold machined to match as well, and be sure to check if what you end up getting are mono torque or require a re-torque.  I blew a set in between torques when I was a young fella, but I was being stupid doing a burn out with a brand new engine.
