Figured it was time to get XL1300 up on here.

Purchased late last year off the forum and am very happy with it (thanks TEX!).

As the plate suggests, it's a 1300 auto, but is running a 1600 backed by a 5 speed. The motor runs a GT inlet manifold with 32/36 weber, extractors and has a cam of unknown grind. Even though I'm sure the motor is quite out of tune, it goes pretty well and is super reliable.

The interior is excellent for the cars age with only a minor tidy-up required.

In the short term, there are a few small things that need attention such as windscreen rubber, tears in front seats, motor tune up and some slight rolling of the gaurds to accommodate my 14x6 Superlites with 195 rubber (wouldn't mind some 175/50/14).

Longer term, I'll look at refreshing the paint, or even a colour change. Although, it might be nice to keep original colour ('Wild Plum'). The engine will also get a rebuild at some stage with a view to achieving around 130hp. Wouldn't mind a 6-clock dash too.

I've attached a few pics, which shows the car when I bought it. The only change now is that I've returned it to original ride hight due to clearance issues with the exhaust manifold (sits about two inches lower than the chassis rails!). I may have to get the manifold cut and shut, or bite the bullet and get a 4-2-1 Ashley from the UK... $$$ ouch!

Cheers,
Scotty P.

Time to bring this thread back from the dead! The car now has a fresh coat of paint and there are a few goodies ready to be bolted on, including a new set of repro 13x7 RS alloys wrapped in 185/60 rubber. Ride height will be dropped two inches.

Not so much of a 'choice' really. Just wanted to retain factory colour, 'Wild Plum'. It does stand out though [:p]

The car is fully re-assembled and back on the road. VERY pleased with the result. Should look great with the RS alloys, front quarter bumpers and lowered ride height.
