Hi GTV6,
I am a little surprised your capri didn't sell, I thought it was reasonable priced and you had a excellent ad description etc (maybe a little to honest). Maybe your location didn't help.
Have you thought about re-advertising on another website apart from Ebay (Ford Muscle car sales, Australian Muscle Car Sales etc).
Anyway back to the bonnet pin question.
This is my opinion and it is probably wrong, but I don't think there is a "correct position" for early Capri bonnet pins.
Early Capri's I consider 1969 to mid/late 1970, with low bucket front seats with the XW Falcon GT bonnet pins.
Later Capris as you know used the XY Falcon screw type (actually Mustang) bonnet locks
I believe that the bonnet pins on the early cars (XW Falcon type) where actually dealer fitted and their location varies from dealer to dealer.
I have seen both types of pins used on 1970 cars and it is not listed as a option when you contact Ford (For example radio's, passenger mirrors, rostyle wheels etc).
Now this is only my opinion, and I am sure somebody will jump in and say but hey the bonnet pins are shown in the Ford parts books, but I think these are only for the brackets utilised for the later XY Falcon bonnet locks and not the early XW Falcon bonnet pins.
So your current position could be correct, or they could have been fitted later on in the cars life or maybe that was the position "Jonny" the apprentice at the dealership fitted them as part of the cars pre-delivery.
But hey I am probably wrong.
