also had to move the carbon cannister into the boot, to accomodate the twin carbs. looks a bit dodge, but this is no daily driver.

Thats a great idea with the charcoal canister.

The video of Baskerfield looks like fun. especially when the guy in front heads for the grass.
Good luck with it.

Yay! after 8 months, and close to $5k, the esky is back on the road. Very happy with the result and a massive improvement at the top end over the single sidedraft and std head of before.

Not much happens before 2.5k rpm, then you have to act mighty quick to change gears at 6k rpm. I'm gonna have to fit a shift light or some sort of rev limiter if i'm going to get any sort of life out of the std bottom end. -any recommendations?

ps the dellorto's sound fantastic - will post a vid soon.

Looking good Michael, you need to find a new home for that washer bottle though.

yea, the washer bottle is off a laser or similar, looks a bit dodge, but has two washer motors and is great when I was doing dirt work.

The K&N filters are a real tight fit, especially the rear one as you have to really twist the filter to get it in over the ram tubes.I'll end up to moving the wiring loom out of the way to make it easier.

My next run is the baskerville hillclimb on the 3rd of aug

Looks great Mate!
I've got an ex Tassie car as well.
Do you know the part number for the K&N filters? I am running almost exact same set up.

I installed a 'dynolicious' on my iphone yesterday - as far as I can work out a G-tech meter ripoff that uses the iphone's inbuilt accelerometers to test 1/4 mile times an HP;

best run;

the mph/and hp figures are actually kph+kw
0-100 8.18sec
1/4mile 15.85 sec@135.6 km/h
peak kw 114w - I don't think so!

there is some weird peak at the 3rd gear change which caused this hi kw reading. I did 2 other runs (but had start triggering issues which affected the 0-100kph times) in total and the average kw figure is 96kw, which seems more likely.

It would be interesting to see what other forum members with iphones get, especially those who have dyoned their car.

here is one of my bog standard 2000 corolla;

best run

3 runs
ave 0-100 time 10.39sec
1/4 mile 17.39@134.8km/h
peak kw 87

this seems about right.

Tis good fun and it has a cool realtime g-meter. - looks like a cheap tool($15) to Analise hilclimb runs/ laptmes.

ps, I'll look at the K&N part number the next time I take em off and post it here.
