awesome stuff!!
the duratec seem like great engines although i haven't seen one with a turbo setup, is it a future mod to consider?
also is there any reason why the brake resevoirs carn't be mounted in a straight line along the bulkhead?
did you have to use a wcxm?
excellent work!!

In the last week I have bleed the clutch, front brakes and rear brakes.
Installed the alloy radiator and the exhaast manifold.
Purchased CoolFlex Hoses, chrome with red covers for the heater and radiator.
Installed new spark plugs

We have struck a small problem with the alternator. The alternators on Duratec engines are controlled buy the ECU, but it looks like we will be able to run it with the Haltech E8.

Looking awsome Bill[:p]

All you need to run your alternator is a spare pwm output. It needs to be programmed to increase duty as voltage drops

Thanks Phil

I can throw the last pwm down that tubing you see in the photo which goes to the CAS, easy. I assume you plug it into D what happens with P and how do I connect my Alt dash light.

Bill, with an ecu driven alternator you typically have 3 pins in the plug, one is ecu input, one is dash light input, one is battery reference. You will also have the big B+ terminal for the battery charge cable.

This is definetly an ECU driven Alternator but it doesn't have three pins just P & D. I wish it had L. Got to love Mazda/Ford for this one.

Matt when you start putting modern engines into cars you dive right into electronic hell. There are three areas in a car you must be proficient in Body/Paint, Mechanical and Electrics.

Alternators come with marked connectors
B common accross all Output
Older Alts
S Monitor Charge
L Charge Warning Lamp
IG Ignition Input
New Alts
P Phase
D Drive or positive

Can you get a wiring diagram? That will solve the mystery
