Hey,

Repco should be able to get Ramflo filters. I can chase it up tomorrow if you like! Possibly a stupid question I know but how many filters are you after? And it's for 40mm webers?

Cheers

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. It feels good now that it's a car once again, rather than a big collection of parts.

The car looks great out in the sunshine Timmeh... a real credit to you! Once its sitting a bit lower will look even better. Any plans to fit the RS2000 side decals or stripes?

Stripes, no, but side decals, possibly. Unsure, have to wait for a pair to come up on eBay at the right price, they seem to ask alot of money for a sticker.

The K+N setup I priced thru Repco was $257, a fair whack of cash for something that will do a similar job to the one I have, but if I can't find any filters for it, I may have to.

The filter is for a single downdraught Weber, that has synchronous 40s. The air cleaner looks like this (bad photo, I apologise):

I'm happy to buy 3 or 4 if they are available at the right price, I fear going to Rare Spares or somewhere like that will cost the earth if I have to.

Thanks for all the encouragement tho, everyones comments during the build really help me stay motivated and working thru the hard times to get the car where it is now, plus being able to ask all you knowledgeable people tricky questions when I get stuck is so valuable.

I look forward to getting the car registered and to a classic ford cruise that I have been waiting so long for!

The RS2000 decals can be obtained from RSOC Victoria for $30/set. Details at http://www.rsocvic.com/

Hey,

If it's for a DGAV or DGV, which from the photo's looks like it is, the part number is RF658. If it's not a DGAV or DGV, let me know what it is and ill chase it up. Repco stores probably wont have any in stock but should be able to get them in. In W.A. we get them in through a company called Topline. There maybe a local dealer in NSW that deals with ramflo. If you quote that part number, they should be able to tell you what the go is.

The price for the kit is $56 each. Just the replacement foam filter is $14 each.

If worst comes to worst I could get them over here and post them to you.

Hope that helps!

Cheers.

Beauty, thanks for that.

Lizard - thanks so much for your help, I managed to find some on the uniflow website for 10 bucks each. I ordered three on Friday, thinking that I'll save myself postage. I also did not choose express postage, thinking I'll wait for them to turn up. Monday morning, here they are on my doorstep - how could express possibly be faster! I also found out they are re-useable filters, wash and oil. 3 should last me a hell of a long time.

The RS is still proving to be frustrating, but AusXH keeps reminding me that where I am now is the fun part - making it run beautifully. That's still to come, by the way, right now it is running and registered! Woohoo!

Too bad it is storming up a beauty outside so sorry bout the bad pic in the limited break of rain, no pics of vids yet, but soon!

I'm also seriously looking at ripping off the chokeless Weber synchronous 40s and putting a choke-enabled 32/36 Weber on, as the DFAV 40s are giving me mucho problemos at the moment and no choke is a real hassle with this camshaft. It's so lumpy the engine won't idle below 1200rpm so without a choke, it requires three feet to keep it running when braking while cold.

I talked to a Weber specialist today and he said for the application, a 32/36 tuned will be a much better package and will still deliver 95% of the peak performance while being so much more driveable down low. I'll swap over the carby soon and it will spend a whole day on a rolling road to be tuned.

Also due to be lowered soon, so it's getting close to being how I want it for my wedding.
