Would there be any stockists of 3J LSD's here in Aust? I'm after the 22 spline item here.
I just called Burtons & they can't do anything about the import duties & taxes that I would be subject to if this was ordered from them ($1175AUD landed). Would there be that much to pay being only $175 over the threshold?

Google import duties - roughly 14.6% plus customs processing of $40-$50. Should be able to phone customs dept to get a more precise quote.

www.motorsport-tools.com etc sell them and can post etc. Our dollar value isn't helping us at present though..

Im sure that there was an australian distributor for 3j advertising on one of these forums. I cant seem to find it now.
From memory it was based in SA

I was $10 over the $1000 threshold and got slugged nearly $200 extra as they charge the GST, Duty, customs processing and entry fees etc so be careful and as suggested call them for a quote before ordering

Customs duty.. Yu can dodge the 14.5% or what it is now by claiming the item is to suit a mk1 Cortina 62 model and the fees will drop to about 3%(historic) . This can be done even when it's landed and waiting. I did this on a crate load of stuff from Ian Harwood back in the early 2000s ,, tho he used to down the price on invoice and post the real one by air lol !
£544 squids is just over $1000au... But just! ! Maybe wait a month till its safe to buy for under a grand.

Crazy how going "over" by $10 can cost you $200+ more!
 
If you have multiple items, try getting them shipped separately, even multiple freight charges will be cheaper. Otherwise do as above and quote for a 62 Cortina.
