I'm thinking of buying a Escort. It has rust in the passenger floor. It is hard to tell how bad as the previous owner has riveted a piece of sheet metal over the top. How much of a problem is this? Is it easy to get repaired- I know there is replacement sections available. Would it be expensive as I cannot do the repairs myself. Any feedback here would be helpful.

MATE, IM IN Sydney, SO I CANT HELP YOU, BUT THE REASON FLOORS RUST OUT IN Escorts IS BECAUSE THE HEATER PLENUM CHAMBER RUSTS THRU FIRST, WATER SOAKS INTO THE CARPET AND HAS NO WAY OUT, YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET SOMEONE EXPERIENCED TO TAKE A PROPER LOOK AT THE CAR BEFORE BEFORE YOU BUY IT.[;^)]
