Ok, so I've tracked down a nice period round reverse fog light.

Problem is the car was never wired for reverse...

Yes the reverse loom is in the boot below the rear tail lights.

However, where are the wires from the reverse switch in the gearbox supposed to meet the rest of the loom? From memory when I changed the tunnel, there were no wires running to the box. Do these run along the top of the tunnel and up under the dash somewhere?, or is it from underneath the car??? I presume I'll find some mystery bullet connections that go nowhere somewhere....[:(!]

I'll have a look tomorrow in the daylight, however if someone can save me hunting???

Thanks, Shaun

I think it is a single brown wire(-v) from the g/box which is usually gaffa taped to the inside top of the tunnel and runs up into the loom near the the heater box, it should follow the rear loom bunch along the passenger side sill. Where at the back its joined with a +v possibly from tail lamps so there should be 2x wires. The brown creates the break in circuit until reverse is engaged....i hope im right on this !!
..Or look in a mk1 wiring diagram if you can get 1

Thanks Marty,

Will connect up the reverse lamp wires to a test lamp and try earthing out things I find...

Otherwise, I guess I'm going to have to chase down the wire along the loom. Either way I'll get there.[:I]

Will let you know how I get on,

many thanks
Shaun
