i have painted the rocker cover, sump and timing cover in ford blue.
also painted the 2L block in ford blue.
The last pic is of one of the pistons i had in one of me 2L engines. when i pulled her apart and saw that i thought it was just better to buy another 2L haha

any idea if the rims on that lancer fit the escort? i heard they fit the 900 saabs which intern should fit Escorts.

nah no idea how that happened.
the rims wont fit either, its an evo so it has 5 stud rims.

My 1st car was a 1100cc Escort '72, i remember the clutch being tiny and mine had no vacuum booster and 4 wheel drums...narsty !

yeah i bet it wouldve been nasty with four drum and no booster. they arent very good atm with disks and a booster haha

Looks like fun, haven't seen many Mk I Eskis on the road around here, enjoy it.

finally pulled the head of my pinto. re-seated all valves, replaced valve stem seals.
found my camshaft to be shot though, has lost all hardner from lobes and started pitting. bit of a bummer, good excuse to buy a better cam though haha.
Has anybody tried port polish at home? if so is it even that effective?

i didn't try the head, but i used a die grinder and attempted port matching my manifold while i had the engine out, unfortunaly the tip broke before i got them perfect, but i did get them bigger & smoother to match ports in the head.

yeah bloody things to break easily, specially the little sandpaper type ones. i had all my valves out so i gave it a go. came up pretty good, nice and smooth.
