Hi all,

Can the Kings lowering springs be used with the original front strut setup?

Also, any recommendations for rotors to be used with the original calipers?

Sorry, also bearing kits. Safe to get from my local bearing supplier? or are they niche?

Thanks mate!
I think I will just get the King springs, I'm sure they will be fine.
Cheers for the setup tip! I'm in the process of rebuilding the front end.

I was thinking vented, has to be better than the old solid style. But also trying to keep as much 'original' as possible.

Just spoke with my bearing shop and they seem to have all the right info as they were trolling through supplier catalogues from back in the day. At least I can take them back if wrong.

Don't, they are garbage.  They jump out of the top caps when turning and the ride is horrible.  The top coils bind under load so they are doing nothing most of the time and are only progressive on rebound.  Since they are bound they have no give when steering and jump out.  Burtons have better and cheaper options.

I think some of the problem with the Kings for capris is they specify the same part number for both standard height 4cyl and lowered v6.

Yep I doubt there has been any real engineering design done for this model spring.

A few old threads that may be of interest.

Guys, I'm confused about the struts. Do the '71 have replaceable inserts?
It looks like I can only service the originals....is that correct?

Yes all the same - u take the whole shock assembly out of the strut housing and put a new shock and retaining nut in
