Like alot of MK1 Capri owners with perished interiors, I require the last piece for my restoration,  the lower cardboard front parcel tray/shelf,  I thought someone was making fibreglass but not sure how they would look fiited, Is there any new cardboard being reproduced.

Hi mate, not releated to a capri but there was a guy doing fibreglass repos of this product for a mk2 escort on gumtree, i put one in my car and am pretty happy with it, needed some slight skimming (with a stanley knife) but suits well and looks alot better then the old cardboard that i had.

The fibreglass ones are really good and look fine when fitted. I’ve never seen a NOS one in all these years and I’m sure if someone had one it’d be worth more than a Nos V6 bonnet as their rare (made of cardboard) and fell apart. I’ve got one in Good nick and original (no not for sale) but the best option I’ve seen was ones JR had produced and you would have to make it work but a real close replica.

Les on Gumtree does good work. I chased him for a drivers parcel shelf for my mk2 escort. Said he was keen to make one but needed an original to copy from. I sent him mine to use as template. When he was done returned my original piece and one of the fiberglass replicas. Took him awhile but I was in no rush.

I was doing the cardboard ones, but I have lost touch witht the guy that cut them out or me.  At some stage ill follow it up

I have a ratty  original one, which I guess is still serviceable not sure I would be keen on fibreglass one.
