Motor cars bore me....
The bickering bores me....
But the Single Russian Beauties advertised on the forum site definitely don't bore me.

Are capris an investment car? Most folk I talk to don't even see them anymore let alone know if there's one that's more desirable than the other.

Your orange capri is a nice car.  Its what will sell as its turn key and looks the goods.  Engines blew up in the 80's and were far cheaper to swap than re-build, resprays were commonplace usually to cover up the bright 70's colours with either red or silver.  The cars will slowly increase in value, people dont expect to get a 100% original untouched un mofied car.  Your car left the factory as a GT V6 Capri so if the finer details are important that the buyer will attend to them at his leisure

Thanks everyone.  Once you get closer than 10ft the paint doesnt look so good, but easily fixed, .......one day.

Cant believe how many pocket pissers there are on this forum, this GTV6 guy  bailed out on a legitimate  Ebay sale ,  he then spent days bull****ting to me and wasting time so that he could cancel the sale , and you PP are backing him up???
GTV6 how about you post the photos of all the bodgie  welds that lay underneath that orange paint mate ...I dont think your car has an original panel on it ...how much rust did the car have  for it to be band-aid welded as it is ??, its been patched up by a back yard welder who excels in sparrow **** welds , why would anyone put fiberglass  guards unless they wanted to drag race it and or its had a serious front end smash , surely you wouldn't go to the trouble of replacing the entire guards for a spot of rust here & there ??
The price you started it at was more than it was worth ...we bought it at that and then you bailed out , your putting so much emphasis now on the fonts ...take a closer look at your 1 & 4's ....different sizes mate , FORD were re known for changing the font size on the letters , but all the numbers I have ever seen ( and I have seen a few ) are ALWAYS the same font size ( 3/8 or 10mm )!! but i,m sure someone will correct  me... to back GTV6  if you do send some pics thru I would love to be corrected , I thought this forum was to share information & learn from one another via our love for the Capri , at the age of 17  in the late 1970,'s I already owned my Mk1 Capri as my first car , so my love for them goes way back , there was no forums or BS or backstabbing back then, we just used to hang around in a local car park & exchange stories face to face  & have a few laughs unlike today ... so much BS floating around.
And for your information GTV6 the people that warned me about your car after you cancelled the sale are on this Forum !!!
So best you keep your orange capri for your self , becuase if you sell it to some poor unsuspected  enthusiast they will be shocked when they start rubbing back the paint!

I was there in the 70's - matching numbers 😵 - Never on the radar

u r right - matching numbers do attract more money- what a burden - anyone with half a brain can do a dodgy - and a really good one - so now what?
you've created a new burden -OMG

As far as this car goes - easy street - if I wanted to buy it - as I said - I'd go and have a look - if sus it in 5 minutes - the whole issue solved for me - regardless of who says what ( inc the owner)

gtcapri, you reminisce of the good old carpark days, but in the now you're trying to buy a car site unseen over the net?.. and then take to a forum to express your displeasure at not being able to secure it?
Reality check... carparks, shows, clubs and the opportunity for face to face exchange still exist, you just need to look for them. The arm chair option obviously isn't working, inspect the car in person, say what you have to say about it in person and shake the mans hand in person if you want it. Otherwise find another one.
Cheers Drew

Fibreglass guards were promoted by capri clinic in WA as an easy rust repair alternative and they had nice little flares to give clearance for mags, they were very popular here.  Unfortunately over the years the mould must have distorted and towards the end they didn't fit very well.
