Just wondering if I read correctly and after advise if I didn't, to fit a 2ltre rad or aftermarket alloy type does the bonnet slam panel need to be trimmed to fit it correctly??I need to replace my slam panel and think it would be silly to get a new one fitted then have to cut it later down the track!!
If cutting is required, can they be purchased already cut?
Cheers brad

i just got the original Mk1 radiator thickened, made it a 3 core unit, then no need to cut or modify anything.
Never had any overheating issues, ended up being more surface area than a 2 litre unit anyway.

Fitting a 2lt radiator gives more room at the front of the engine and does require the slam panel to be trimmed and a lower cut panel to be fitted.

Compare the photograph to the panels fitted to your car. At the bottom, near the swaybar you'll see where the lower panel has been altered to accommodate the radiator at the bottom. you'll also notice how the slam panel has been trimmed back to accommodate the radiator at the top.
