Apperntly their are differences in the South African looms to U.K. looms as well with placement of wires.
Only learnt recently that South African V6 cars never had the indent for battery tray like our cars do, they are like 4cyl shells in this respect. All other V6 strengtheners are their though.
I will just have to now pull the engine loom out and start from scratch. Means one wire has meant complete dash removal and now at a minimum radiator front grill and headlights at a minimum. Not a lot of space to work with a V8 in there.
I fortunately have 5 looms 3 Oz V6 one’s one 4cyl xl and this one. Although looking at the plugs they all have differences ( grrrr).

And the foot switch was easy to fit. The green double wire connects as usual to the three pronged white female plug. The three foot switch wires connect to piggybacked ford connectors at the back of the wiper switch. It’s 21st century technology when you can wash your window and wipers come on automatically.

Not to sure Jamie. Timmo has provided the correct diagram but I can’t zoom in and read any colours of wires.
Really a loom comes up to the switch from the foot switch. I just remember reading somewhere about an extra wire coming out of the windscreen wiper motor but can’t remember for sure.
Really it is just a moment of power and the self cancelling of the wiper motor should do the rest. Timmo is their any way you could post a clearer picture of those diagrams please.

I'll see what I can do, unfortunately it isn't that clear in the manual, need a magnifying glass

I've taken photos of the wiring, see what you reckon, if OK I can take some more, just let me know which parts you need, maybe the whole lot??

I have only just realised though after looking through this for some weeks with practical from many and yes many looms that OZ GT V6 looms match the V4 gt loom from the same manual. We did not get a V6 loom. We got a V4 loom.
I say this as after looking at several looms all my V6 looms have only 5 connectors at the slam panel. Haynes says V6 has 6 connectors. Our V6 seems on four of my looms and two originals to have connections matching V4 2000gt connections. Simply no Brown +ve going through front of loom.

I seem to recall that a V6 loom has a thicker connector at the 12 o'clock position on BOTH firewall loom plugs, not just the passengers side

The 4cyl loom runs the white yellow wire through the slam panel connector and a V6 does not. The connections at slam panel can be easily seen and Brown battery positive is missing on all my V6 looms but shows it should run through on my Haynes V6 manual. If you look at the same manual the 2000 V4 Gt is a match for the V6 looms we have in Australia so we have 2000 Gt looms.
The only other option is somehow I have managed to get 6 looms all from V4 Capris and don’t have a V6 loom in any of my cars. That is near impossible when two cars are near original and never had their looms removed.
So best to follow the V4 diagram when fixing our cars.

Can anyone confirm how many wires run through the front engine loom plug if they can without removing anything. The earth has a double wire but only five go through and it’s missing the Brown battery feed on all my V6 looms. So we got V4 looms in Australia to power the V6. Cheers

You can see here the missing spot for Brown battery feed.
