Hi Laurie,

In the engine bay wiring loom (landing somewhere near where the factory battery would have been), you should have a circular terminal, and a terminal that looks like it will push onto a coil post.

The terminal that pushes on goes on the negative side, and the terminal that screws on goes on the positive side.

Please refer to the photo I took for a visual.

Hope this helps.

Hi Laurie,
the pos, + side of the coil goes to the loom, wire colour, blk/y (one wire only)
the neg - side of coil to distributor wire colour, ? grn or brn, (often two wires)
some folks scrape a little bit of paint off the coil body where it is in
contact with the mounting bracket, with a dab of uv cream on the wound,
hope this makes sense to you, Geoff

Where do you get your pinto info,?? is it a 1600, or 2.0L,???

UV cream, Zinc cream = zinc oxide it repels water, so it won't wash off,  prevents oxidation that reduces
current flow, in wet or, dry weather, ("if things work one day, and not on another") With, i.e. intermittent
problems eliminated,  things work better.  Sticks to parts well,  It's protected by connection pressure.
Great for any earth connections, to body / frame / chassis.  If lights flicker at odd times,  it could be a
crook earth. If connection is on new paint,  or old paint, scrape off a little paint under the connector,
contact to bare metal, is a must.  The resistance is measurable with your multimeter.  MUST BE, the
visible white paste, as used by athletes/sportsmen.  Scrape a little paint off your coil body under the
mount bracket,  and mount bracket to car body,  even earthing your coil has benefits,  in reliability
and performance.  The use of Zinc cream is from my experience in making connections,  reliable and more
permanent.  Earthing your Coil is recommended on the packaging of your new GT40 coil.  Cheers, Geoff
