Hi Guys
My 85 year old dad has just had to hand his license in so he no longer needs his beloved escort and I have 2 other projects (Capri & MGA) so its no good to me. He bought it new in 1975. It's a 1.3 litre 2 door, completely standard down to the am radio! Not much rust but has a few carpark dings. Any ideas as to how much to ask for it?
Thanks

Edited due to not readng the original post right. Yes I think Tex's estimate is close to the money but being an early one you may get more.

being 2 door its worth more than more doors, and I dont know for sure but I was told the early ones are stronger than later 'small' strut tops, so may be even more in demand.
It could go for up to 4k I reckon, but more like 2500-3000.

Being a 75 model is potentially valuable because you have more freedoms with engine mods / conversions as it is pre-ADR76a, compared with the later MK2's.

What Avon said ^^^^^

The 1975 2 door is the most desirable and will therefor fetch the most coin. (preADR27a the only MK2 you can legally run webers on)

What will it go for?

Depends on how many others are on the market at the time, who is buying, and how long they have been looking for.....

You have the 3 big ones in your favour, 2 door, little rust and year.

ADR27a is the one. Introduced 1 July 1976. If you can be bothered, it's listed here. http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/motor/design/pdf/27A.pdf

Good luck with the sale.
