I need a RWC in a hurry for my Capri, does anyone know a Melbourne mechanic (that is open during the holiday season) who has an open view on older cars?  The hard work is all done and nearly every replaceable componant new, I just don't want to spend $250 on an inspection to hear "minor oil weep from gear selector, clutch gaiter torn" etc etc

TC and RS
Try Precision Motors, 261 Mary St, Richmond. 9428 4805. Jim and the gang are great with older cars, particularly old Fords. We supply a lot of tyres and W/A's to them. They've done a few roadies for us and if you're not selling the car aren't too hard.
Cheers,
David.

A couple of very minor things, exhaust hanger broken (damn thing was new....,) Gear knob not attached, so a quick fix later and a lovely green sheet was written out.  Car now sports maroon Historic plates and has already had its first log book entry (Vicroads to home).

89 days of unbridled driving to go in 1 year and then it starts all over again. How good is this?

Good news. Certainly worth considering. On the spot I assume or did you need to go back?

Whooli I prefer mine to be refered to as the "Gentlemans Express" lol.  Hillsmead Automotive Cranbourne highly recommended.
