I think the bubbles look awesome on the Mk Is. Go for it if it's what you want, I would!

i have been thinking on what to do with my escort
i have since installed twin dellorto 40mm carbs and just trying to get them to run right.

but i dont know what to do with the car. should i spend my time and money respraying it and knowing that i wont get it back?
ive always been a v8 boy and ive just been thinking as i get off my ps in a year that spending alot of time and money on my escort wouldn't be worth it.

i would rather do up my dads xy gt replica giving that a respray then to do it to my escort.

ive been thinking to just leave the escort the way it is and when i can drive v8s later down the track i could sell my escort knowing that it doesnt owe me alot of time and money

what do you guys think

Doesn't sound like you have the passion for the escort. No one here spends money on a car expecting to get it back. I myself will have spend over 20k on a 4door flat front Mk2, by the time its done. I expect that it will be worth 7k if I had to sell it. I could have got a 2door rs2000 and done it up if i wanted more resale value, But when looking at 2drs 4dr rs2000s ectect the rally pack 4 door was what i wanted.

If you want to do up a XY, do up an XY.
The decision isn't hard... DO WHAT YOU WANT =P

Leave the Mk1 the way it is, and drive it until you can get a V8. I'm sure someone here would snap it up the way it is no problem.

Agree with Jordy.

End of the day it's your decision. I love my V8's too, but have had a passion for Escorts since I was about 8 ( I'm now 36). Each their own at the end of the day. Just do what you're the most happy with.

You might find that by the time you get of your P's you would have fallen in love with the escort and how nimble it is, especially compaired to a large V8.

Look after the Escort till it comes time to sell it. Mk 1 2 drs are getting harder to come by now days and the price is starting to go up a bit, but I don't think you will ever get the prices that some of the rare aussie muscle cars are getting now. You will never have a problem selling it though, that's for sure.
