have been sorting through the varies powerplants, and have decided on maybe a turbo charged 2l pinto motor. Has anyone who has tackled this combo have any recommendations on diff? will the 2 litre Box be upto the task?

if i remember correctly i think ive seen some turbo pintos with standard box or 5 speed...

diff will have to be changed. the most popular seems to be hilux or similar, one guy cut a corty diff, fit it to the escort, then changed the center to a EB xr6 LSD.

Plans have changed, No longer going to be regoed. Pure Drag car only (good when i live 5 mins from the creek ) Have sourced some good parts (from this forum- with more to come)Now have 2 Litre low K motor and EFI (thanks shannon)- am planning on turboing it, and running powerglide. (haven't decided on diff yet). anyways- heres some pics of the recently removed firewall. all vents are going to be plated. No more heater bubble, wipers,dash,interior,console etc.
hopefully be welding in the new firewall this weekend. stay tuned...







This last shot has nothing to do with the escort what so ever, but is what's keeping me sane till the escort is finished. (and NO the commie is not mine)
