Just another small update,

Pro 5.0 shifter from the states, thanks again to Phil for organising the groupbuy. Also Simmons fr17's in the background. These are yet to be painted and polished (outers).

Ive really got to stop buying parts and actually do some real work on the car.[:p] The body still needs all deadening removed from underneath, and rear tubs need to be welded in. Need to build some shelving in the garage first tho[V]

Sorry Ben just noticed your post. The manifold was a cast garret type, it came with a motor that i bought so i cant help with price. I never fitted it to the car so im unsure of whether it would clear the booster, although from what i remember the garret ones do.

Its been a while so time for an update. I got my hiluxs diffs back from a mate of mine who has been doing way too many favours for me!
The blue hilux was set up by promaz many years ago for a s2 rx7. As such it had the ends of an rx7 diff housing welded to it to run s2 discs and calipers.

I was going to use this diff until i stumbled upon a standard narrow 70's hilux housing at the wreckers. So for $80 for a housing, and $30 per axle i figured it was best to start again. I had escort spring mounts welded to both diffs and sold the blue one to fund a new diff centre.

i currently have a 4.4 locked centre but this will probably change to a 3.9 lokka ratchet centre or torsen lsd.

I also had a non-adjustable watts link welded to the new diff. The watts link shown was only for reference. A new centre with rose jointed arms will be made once on the car along with link brackets from the chassis.

This setup may change when if i end up doing a four link, although this would be after the car is registered.

Also finally found a suitable heater to use in the car. Its about a third of the size of my mk2 heater unit, and less than half the weight.

After a VERY long time, the widening of the garage has also been completed. Building the garage amongst other things has meant very little progress on the escort over the last 6 months. Also a shot of my daily driver with my new very period wheels, no its not a ford

Nigel what is the heater out of? where is it from?

Ben, I have a near complete draw through garret system, ex + in manifold, turbo, carby, wastegate and oil feed, which i will prob be selling in about a month.

With a suitable garage to work in i have found some much needed enthusiasm. So i started by cutting out some smalls bits of rust that i had found.

I got a bit carried away though and started chopping out some other crap too[88]

Shaun, the heater is a universal aftermarket type. I struggled to find a full electric 12v one, but as this unit is very compact and light, it seemed a good idea. The brand is Siroco, and ive seen these on eBay with both 2 and 4 outlet's.

I recieved your email Phil, Melbourne gets pretty cold, heater was essential, and thanks for the heads up on the lokka
