Some shots of interior bits and pieces being trial fitted. Initially the interior was going to be totally standard mk1 vinyl with a 6 dial dash and black dashtop.

As usual i changed my mind and decided that i would leave the door trims as standard mk1, and fit a front and rear vinyl seats out of a mk2.

The backseat for now has remained unchanged, however front seats will be black rs2000 scheels which i purchased from PeterR.

Do the Hoppers kit come with some sort of engineering certificate of their own.. like for example, the Cebco Brakes kits do for Falcons and Commodores? This would help a little when it comes time to have the car inspected.

I thought the Hoppers kits complied with all ADR rules and would have no trouble passing an engineering certificate, unlike the big brake kits on eBay which apparently (not 100% sure on this), have re-drilled Commodore calipers. Do the Hoppers kits have spacers or brackets for the calipers? Are the calipers re-drilled? Sorry to ask you these Q's, I should get on the phone and chat to them myself.

jds, the kit does not come with a certificate, and to my knowledge is not approved for ADR. Having said that, it will pass scrutineering/engineers requirements in *most* states. The caliper mounting holes are not modified (they are off the shelf pbr), but an adaptor plate is used.

here are some more updates on the front end...

noltec camber/castor strut tops
late model celica front inserts, externally adjustabe, big thanks to Rhys (2lt Scort) for his help with the inserts

inserts are not a direct fit, they require the strut tube to be packed or shortend by approx 50mm

A fibreglass bonnet is one of many parts purchased from Geoff Wade. This will help to reduced the excess weight over the front wheels. I assume the front end will be slightly heavier than a standard pinto with the extra bolt-ons that come with a cossie, and the intercooler.

Incase anyone was wondering what a f-glass bonnet looks like from underneath, here it is[:p]

Nigel,
I'll be watching your thread with interest. Looks like a treasure box of good parts going into the car and sounds like it will be a well finished rocket ship.

Just for your interest. Toperformance did this to my Konis with the measurements I gave them to get required strut length.

Thanks for the pic Rhys, hopefully mine will be getting the same treatment fairly soon. Thanks again for the heads up on the inserts too.

With the standard escort radiator making way for an alloy intercooler and radiator, some metal removal was required. Rad and slam panel support had to go. Got a bit happy with the grinder and also thought it a good idea to tidy up that ugly lip on the slam panel.

really need a garage![:u]

i have since redone this properly as this welder was useless.

With slam panel and rad mods finished, it was time for some trial fitting...

The cooler pipes will run straight into the engine bay rather than into the guard. The intercooler tanks/outlet's had to be slightly modified to allow for some very acute aluminium bends.

A new garage is finally being built so that i can get some real work done on this car and finish it. Cant wait.

Here are some shots of the fibreglass heater bowl courtesy of Geoff Wade. I inserted m6 rivnuts into the sheet metal, then fastened down with some cosworth yb rocker cover cap screws![:p]
