This is the original motor that was built for the car. Purchased as a recently rebuilt carby turbo motor with the intention of running sierra injection, rx7 550cc injectors, wolf 3d etc

full specs on that motor here:

This is the original 6 dial dash i had. The idea was to remove the guages and replace them with autometer items. Parts were ordered, but when it came time, i couldnt bring myself to cut up an original dash. So i used two spare 2 clock dash's, cut and bonded with MEK, to make the outer section, and 3mm acrylic for the backing face.

Autometer gauges as ordered direct from the US

3mm acrylic gauge mounting face face

All dimensions for the new dash were taken directly from the original, this was crucial to a good result

2 standard dashtops were also cut up and joined together to make a 6 dial dash, this was covered in a felt, and looked fairly good. However, when the fiberglass 6 dial dashtops arrived, i thought that one of those would look slightly more authentic, so i purchased one!

The aim for this project is to keep the engine bay as clean and empty as possible. Space is also a premium in terms of brake systems whether it be cosworth or turbo pinto. So a pedal box was the answer, and this one came to me from the uk via Ty Brown.

It is a cable clutch type pedal box, with provisions for hydraulic clutch, with front/rear bias adjustment. Also came with 2 AP resevoir bottles.

Most turbocharged cars tend to need one of these... The intercooler is a pwr off shelf item, 500*300*76 core size. Front radiator support panel needed modification to fit, but will allow me to (just) fit the cooler and pipes feeding straight back into the engine bay, rather than into the guard.

Simo ill get some measurements/pics of the cooler and piping in place. Was going to mount rad off the cooler but im still not sure on that.

Damion, a caged, arched, cossied mk1 sounds like a good plan to me, although your flat front aint half bad either!
