Thanks
Simmons are sold and going on another very cool turbo mk1. Not sure if i can fit fr17s under standard escort rear tubs, with the ride height i want (low). Engineer will be around within the next month hopefully to tell me if i am allowed to tub and 4 link it

I bought some glass guards a few months back. They didn't fit as well as i had hoped, and have taken quite a lot of work to both sheetmetal and the fglass to fit. I am fairly happy with how they are now, altough there are some symmetry issues where they bolt to the front panel.
Have also sold the fr17s, now replaced with 16 inch BBS RS wheels. I was amazed how light these are compared to the Simmons.
Welded crush tubes for cross member mounting also.
highlights not looking too bad

Trial fit of dummy engine,
It FITS!
2wd manifold plus 16mm plenum spacer, not much room to spare, but it has 15mm+ clearance either side.
Thanks to Shaun for the block
Yellow pulleys are just temporary items!

Got my new wheels made up, RS centres still need to be painted.
Built my coilovers for the second time... Inserts are 44mm shorter than a standard capri unit so shortened the housing to suit. Had them welded in a jig and turned a shelf for the threaded collars to sit on.

Also managed to snap up a heap of bits from Britek V8 supercar workshop. Carbon race seat for $100, seat mounts for $5 ea, disc bells (V8sc rears) $20, full watts link, adj roll centre, cromoly rods and prop for $100!! Watts link is used and from Jason Brights 08 BF supercar chassis, as is the seat which is expired but otherwise perfect. The list of bits i bought from them is too long to list!
Mocked up one rear wheel, measures 10" between the beads, fronts will be 8's i think. I have started poitioning the front arch, but final position will be determined by wheels and castor etc.

Looking good Nigel.
I would try to get the engine back as far as possile against the firewall.. when you start fitting intercoolers and radiators in there you start running out of room really quickly.
I reckon there is an extra inch you can go back from the standard mounts.
Cheers.
