Hey Max, if you want to be close to the action and want a mid line sort of accomodation you should try the Travelodge in Southbank. It is right behind southgate where there is a tonne of cafe's and restaurants and it is just on the edge of the city. If you want to impress with restaurants, book into Pure South or the Deck in Southbank. I am an encyclopaedia if you need more info on restaurants!
