sorry mate your going to have to work it all out yourself every car is different ,buy your self a motor and gearbox cut the heater bubble out first and then measure the motor and with and length and then cut out floor pan to suit you just cant get diamension of someone else and copy the job just doesnt work in the real world of cars . the heater is custom made the orginal is in the bin big and bulky .if you are using a windsor you cant get the motor far enough back cause the oil pump hangs in the front of the motor chevy is on the rear. are you trying to get to get this rego cause you you cant get it passed cause they changed the laws so they dont want 20yr olds in the front paper with highly modified car dead. if you start this project see a engineer first talk to heaps as they all are different terms and the local rta engineers

I don't wish to hijack your topic in any way, but I too am ded keen on a registered V8 van one day, and you have touched on an interesting point that doesn't seem clear.

As you say the laws have changed to prevent V8 Escorts and the like.. But how about a nice 3.5 rover.. or if that was too big I was even wondering what sleeving one down to 3L would be like.

I've been through the Qld transport dept mumbo jumbo several times.. at the end of the day they give guidelines, that every engy I talk to interperates differently.. Should I just keep asking till one says yes? lol. If anyone knows any of the detail involved in what is allowed, please tell. Qld would be great, but I would register it in any state to get it done, so any will do.:D

one of my mates has a 12 second street legal 302 windsor powered capri... and he was 19 when he got it
5 or so years later the capri is still running never crashed and his still alive...maybe if he wanted to die he sould have bought a motorbike hey????
and now he is building a twin turbs windsor powered eski van...
how old were you when you got this beast registered..
im sure these days its a lot harder than it was years ago to get a rocket like this registered... but im sure with the right engineer and enough $$$ spent it can be done.

in nsw they have a power to weight ratio so the v8 option is out. ive just done a 12a rotor in a esky and they didn't even want to here about a 13b in a esky so you are limited on what you can do and it depends on what state you live in and their crap laws should be like new zealand tubs blowers and moster motors. capris are a different story no firewall mods are needed to put v8 into so are corollas datsun 1600 and mazda capella etc ive heard of heaps of eskys with v8s in them and to be honest ive seen about 6 that come to mind but every says there is this and that with this size motor in a esky so let's get all these ppl that say their mate has this and show me the photos of their mates carscant be that hard
