RUST IN ALL THE USUAL PLACES,  Originating often from rust where we cannot see, do we need a
Specific Thread where All of these usual places can be identified by experienced members of this
Forum and Associated with solutions that have worked, or not worked, or still being evaluated.
 
The proof of the pudding may be a delayed incidence of rust problem posts, or an increase in the 
number of cars being parted out.  There is something very special about driving one of these 
very special cars, be they, Escort's, Capri's, Anglia's, Cortina's, or Falcon's, etc.  What do you think.???
Is this worth being persued.???

Sounds like a good idea, I'd like to see a welding thread too, ie spotwelding, tools needed and basic fabrication. I'm also interested in unpicking seams after seeing JP pull down that front end. We've got a fair few competent welders on here that may be able to help. I got thrown in at the deep end doing my bodywork and although its done would be glad to hear any tips or tricks to make it easier for the next small ford I do.....

Well, to eliminate or prevent rust in our special cars.
To prevent is most often too late for the past,
Ford created the problem and we will fix it.
If we new the heater bubble was catching and keeping leaves rotting and blocking up water flow.
If we new the heater bubble had no paint inside it.
Mk2 Escort.
If we new the quarter vents were 4" lower than the outlet and from day 1 there was water sitting in the rear quarter
vent rusting away at bare metal.
I have show the process of fixing these rear quarter vents by shortening the internal vent with images.
We can eliminate the rust and do our best to protect our cars.
Fish oil , por 15 , rust converters and paint to protect bare metal.
When I put a complete floorpan & firewall back into my twin cam I cleaned inside the subframe chassis
and por 15 inside before putting the floor back.
The donour or parting up cars do help save a lot of other cars.
I keep front cuts, rear cuts and side cuts for just in case ,
this is how to save most of our special cars, by having spare rare genuine panels
