The biggest problem with electronic distributers is getting parts for them later on if you need to, especially the imported stuff. The other problem is the advance curve, if its not right you will need to send it somewhere anyway, and if you're fitting it to your existing distributer, chances are it will be worn and the curve will be all over the shop anyway.

The Bosch/Magna unit that Gdub and Fordsy have is the way to go. The original $$ outlay may be more, but worth every bit of the extra expense.

It takes a BIM024 module which you will buy anywhere, and the internals are also common also. The coil, cap and rotor that suits are also readily available items. You can specify your engine specs and it will be graphed/curved to suit.

I make a point of using this style of distributer on alot of engines I do, because there is nothin worse than being stuck Hrs away from home and not being able to buy parts to get you going. Especially if you're at a race track with a broken down car when you've outlayed heaps to be there.

Make sure whoever you get to do it use genuine Bosch internals and NOT the Chinese repro stuff.
