Well i bit the bullet and folked out the cash for the nice looking beast! Drove it home from Bargo, NSW to Melton, VIC and it was cool...real cool so i found out as the first problem i encountered was that the heater wasn't working!! Made it home with only one other problem and that was i lost the lights when i pulled into a servo to tinkle and refuel, turns out it was just the lights stalk that is a little richardie and i appoligise to those in the 20mins drive b/w servos i highbeamed!!

This was all on a Thursday as i had taken 2 days off work to view and drive then the Friday it was booked in for its RWC here to go straight onto club reg... Fail! When you drop a car of to be looked at the get a call from the guy looking at it saying "how 'bout you come look at it while its on the hoist" my gut sank! As it turns out the pink slip from NSW i drove home on wasn't even close to a VIC RWC. Will not bore you with the list, let's just say i need to look in to a fair few things.

So 2 weekends ago i pulled it out of the container to possibly move it to the shed to begin the work, but with a neighbours car in there i didn't want to block i thought i would have to wait til he returned(last Friday), so on that weekend i sorted out the heater, turns out it was the heater core not allowing water thru, so i pushed water thru it and then blew air into the hose and heard it coughing and splattering then more water....so got it working and hoped for no leaks(no sighted so far). Heat pumped out and i was happy, the slide sticker the wrong way but working fine!(and on the trip home i had about 10hrs of trying all the different combos you can make the heater do and nothing). On putting the car back into the container when done, this is when i scratched the rear fender(flare) on the side ever so slightly with the container, not straight access to get it in. [8~2] This will change however just need to swap containers around with parts and car....

So last weekend with the neighbour spoken to, i moved it into the shed and begun some work removing the interior to find out all the holes in the floor and what-not...(too much rambling time for pics...)

Making sure that 13" rims still fit...volvo calipers

So if any one has the measurements and pics of where my seat holes are ONLY ment to be could you please pass them on...

The front mounting bolts for the front seats will go into the chassis rail.

well its been a little bit since i have had the chance to work on it, but Monday i managed to work on her....

The Type 9 is out to do the rear main and was dropped off at yesterford today(Friday, well tech. yest.) for a rebuild so i know 100% the thing will be good to go!!

I also checked out the front wheel bearing as they were pinned as one being loose. So checked out good a re-pack of grease and installed!!

And then i couldnt help myself and fitted up the new rims to be sure they looked the part...as stareing at them on the ground i was starting to think maybe i stuffed up but once on i know (in my opinion) that i did the better thing!!! Love the look of them!!

So now on the list to still do is the rear main, box back in, change the rear shocks and then a tidy up (cover up) of the debarkle with the floor and put it all back together again...and RWC!! Would be nice to do this quite quickly but most of you know how it is finding the time and differs when its not at my place too...

Hi mate, rear main sucks to do but hopefully it goes smoothly. Look forward to seeing the car with the new wheels on it.

Ok, gearbox is back and boy am i glad i decided to have it looked at...Everyone says what's wrong with it and i replied nothing, so they say not to touch it, but thought i wanted to know it was 100% and now it is!

The input shaft was replaced, the cluster also and the main shaft were all worn and screw along with bearings and the likes! So $850 poorer but very happy with the outcome!

Still procrastinating on the rear main, should be attacking it this w/e and then can fit the gearbox back in and drop it back on its wheels!!!

Yeah it's the sort of job where you just feel better when it's done. Good luck with it.

been busy the last couple of days and done some jobs on the car!! I attacked the Rear main seal on Sunday only to stuff the seal trying to put it in, there was a nice machine lip(burr) on the edge for the seal so yeah it caught on it and torn a chunk outta the seal...So deburring and rubbing with emery cloth to make this smooth for good seal installation was a must!

Then have found out that there is actually differing seals for the rear main in the fact there some have double lip seals and also found there is a seal that is actually .2mm larger in OD so for a tighter fit more of these seals were sourced from Yesterford.(next day delivery from a phone order is very good service in my opinion!)

So then Wednesday was spent making the area 100% for i seal installaition and put in the new seal with out any hassles!! YAY

And then today was Flywheel, clutch, gearbox and starter installation day! All things going well until 1/ i ran outta time and must attend the place that pays me and 2/ i found that the new speedo cables i got from the UK the retaining base for them is actually Ally and larger in thickness then the steel and therefore dont allow the circlip to retain the cable in the g/b.....bummer, so with a bit of machineing on the lathe hopefully can make it thinner and fit without any hassles!!

Cheers
