Hi Nardo.
The subject has been done a few times before.

What do you want to use the car for?

Daily drive? Weekender?

This is a good starting point:

The fastest sohc Pinto i have ran had a Ivan tighe cam. I don't know what duration it was, 35/75 is all i was told. it had the letter R stamped on the end.

That combo was with standard valves, ported head with a 500 Holley on a match ported standard inlet manifold.

Loads of compression with a good "rpm 90" clutch.

Balancing the bottom end will help a Pinto engine rev to 7000 rpm with a standard flywheel.

35(BTDC)+180+75(ABDC) = 290 degrees duration. Tighe 924 grind. I picked one up recently with a bunch of other stuff - have no plans to use it as I'm after a shorter duration and higher lift for torque > power. Has 0.425" of valve lift, cross drilled, matching rockers.
