Hi guys as shown in the photos below i have 2 genuine capri bullet mirrors and one which i believed to be a replica (full black one), however after speaking to a few people they think the black one (replica?) may be off a different car all together. It has a cast steel base and metal cone unlike the full plastic originals, it is much better quality than the originals, slightly bigger, is a slightly different shape, and mounts completely differently, which i would find odd for a replica,  any idea if another car had a similar but different mirror to the capri that this one may be off? Or did the capri model their plastic bullet mirrors of that off another car?
Just curious.
Cheers

I had one of the same. Had polished alloy base. Mine was cracked though. Silly money for these now.

Mine was on one door of a very early 1970 XL or Deluxe Capri. I have no idea but might be difference between dealer and factory. Need to check parts catalogue maybe. I would say though you have a few thousand dollars there mate.

Hmm that is a thought, has no markings or anything so almost impossible to trace its originalty. A few have said the same thing that the black one looks better, and its definitely better quality, so who knows...
Just need a few more early Capris to fit them to, haha.
Cheers
